I spent 11 hours in Doha, waiting for transit to Sanaa, capital city of Yemen. I finally arrived at the guest house at around 8pm. I was first told to have departure at 5am the next morning. I needed to have immediate briefing with the Head of Mission. But after dinner, we received information that there was no green light for our movement.
That’s what our humanitarian work may face. We use to work in disastrous area, either man made or natural. This mission is an emergency surgical service in a conflict area. Security is our major concern. Any movement has to get the permission from all concerned parties. I had to wait in the Sanaa MSF office.
